Available for standard rectangular waveguide sizes from WR-28 to WR-650, these shims ensure phase accuracy and proper physical alignment in broadcast, military, and SATCOM systems. The choice of material allows users to balance conductivity requirements against weight constraints, with brass offering superior wear resistance for frequent assembly cycles and aluminum providing optimal performance for weight-sensitive applications.
The S108 product line features distinct shim configurations defined by their flange interfaces and construction types, typically categorized as follows:
Solid Shims: Manufactured in precise, fixed thicknesses (e.g., 0.004" to 1.000") for fine-tuning electrical length. These are available with various custom flange pairings, including Cover-to-Cover, Cover-to-Grooved, or Grooved-to-Grooved interfaces to match standard UG and CPR flange types as allowed by shim thickness.
