Unique Broadband Systems (UBS) manufactures and sells the S113 Transitions series as custom-fabricated, flanged waveguide sections designed to connect two waveguide components of different sizes, up to two sizes up or down, or different flange types while maintaining signal integrity.  Constructed from high-conductivity brass or lightweight aluminum, these transitions feature a tapered internal geometry that ensures a smooth impedance match between mismatched waveguide standards (e.g., WR-90 to WR-62), minimizing VSWR and insertion loss across the operating band.  Like the S112 twists, S113 units are built to order, requiring specific input regarding the input/output waveguide sizes, overall length, and flange configurations for each end.

The S113 product line offers extensive flexibility in flange pairing, allowing users to specify any combination of standard UBS flange types on the input and output ports.  Based on UBS's standard offerings, these configurations include:

Mixed Flange Styles: Connecting a UG Cover flange on one end to a CPR Grooved or Choke flange on the other.

Mixed Hole Patterns: Pairing flanges with all tapped holes on one side with clear holes (for bolts) on the other to suit specific assembly requirements.

Specialized Interfaces: Integrating UBR/PBR precision flanges or modified CPR styles for unique military or broadcast interfaces. This customization ensures that the S113 transition acts as a seamless mechanical and electrical bridge in complex waveguide runs where standard straight sections or twists cannot accommodate changes in waveguide designation or mounting standards.
