Description and Application

Unique Broadband Systems, UBS, is a Toronto, Canada based multinational company specializing in the R&D, design and manufacture of Radio Frequency, RF, amplifiers, components and complete digital, wireless satellite transmission systems for audio and video broadcasting. UBS has global installations with all of the major TV and Radio broadcasters and a reputation for exceptional design and manufacturing capabilities.

With over 25 years of experience in the communications market, UBS, also has a full suite of RF amplifier products especially for scientific and medical applications. To meet the continually growing global demand for ever more sophisticated health care products and instrumentation for scientific research, UBS has a dedicated line of RF and Microwave, MW,  amplifiers and components for RF/MW Surgical Ablation, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometry (NMR) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

The MWA2450MH160W tunable, microwave frequency amplifier for minimally invasive surgery, delivers between 60W and 160 Watts of continuous wave power at 2450 MHz microwave frequency. Alternating high frequency MW current, unlike RF, causes water molecules to vibrate within living tissue. This vibration also results in localized heating only within the tissue surrounding the MW probe, and eventual controlled cell death in that vicinity. Unlike RF Ablation, MW Ablation does not require an electrical path. Like RFA, MWA surgery is also suited for the ablation of smaller cancerous tumors, and a number of other conditions requiring minimally invasive surgical approaches.

Our R&D and engineering expertise makes it possible to not only provide our clients with tried and true, economical and technically competitive solutions, but to also customize our products or invent new ones to suit a specific need. If we don’t have what you want, we have the focused team of engineers and scientists to develop it for you.

In fact our primary focus has always been on customization of design and production to address our individual client’s particular requirements. Combined with our rugged, modular designs, ISO 9001 certification, and military experience, UBS surpasses industry standards for design, manufacturing and testing, leading to superior product performance.
